Revolutionizing Engine Performance: Rotera’s Active Crankcase Ventilation Systems

At Rotera Automotive, we’re proud to lead the way in cutting-edge solutions for cleaner, more efficient engines with our Active Crankcase Ventilation (ACCV) Systems. Powered by our patented Disc Stack Separation Technology in combination with downstream filter element, these systems set a new standard in the continuous separation of oil particles from blow-by gas, ensuring optimal engine performance and reduced emissions.

Hydraulic and electric drive concept for disc stack separators

The heart of our ACCV systems lies in the innovative design of rotating conical discs, which are electrically or hydraulically driven. Blow-by gas is drawn into the rotor and forced through the disc stack, where oil particles are captured. Using centrifugal force, these particles fuse, move outward, and are guided to the rotor chamber walls before being returned to the oil recirculation system. For closed systems, clean gas is vented back into the engine intake manifold, while open systems release it safely into the atmosphere. Rotera combines this technology with a highly efficient, long-life, downstream filter element to achieve even higher separation rates close to 100 %, thereby reducing the residual oil content in the blow-by gas to levels that can hardly be measured.

Rotera’s ACCV systems are adaptable to a wide range of engines, including passenger cars, trucks, off-road vehicles, and hybrids. They are designed to handle biofuels, flex fuels, and e-fuels with ease. Powered by either an efficient BLDC motor or our HERON hydraulic system, these solutions offer unmatched reliability and flexibility.
